How I work

Know who you're hiring.

Before you book a call, here's how I operate, what working together feels like, and how to tell whether I'm the right fit. Straight answers, so neither of us wastes your time.

Who you're dealing with

A fixer who finishes.

I grew up in outback Australia and skipped university. I worked my way up from running technology at Star City Casino in Sydney, reporting straight to the CEO, to McKinsey in New York. Along the way I've delivered across the US, Europe and Asia Pacific, and become the person companies call when a program has turned into a train smash.

You get the tenacity and experience of a proven finisher. Seven full Ironman races and twenty-one 70.3s on four continents taught me that talent gets you to the start line. What gets you to the finish is a plan you trust, composure when the day goes sideways, and refusing to stop.

That's the guy you're hiring. The McKinsey and Ironman pedigree is real, but at heart I'm a get-it-done operator. My experience runs from the data center and the operations floor to vendor contracts, M&A integration and the CEO's office, and all of it points one way: value delivered, not activity reported. I don't quit, I don't panic, and I don't force-fit a playbook. I keep the long view on where you're going and the short view on this week's work, and I own getting you across the finish line.

Operating principles

Six things you can count on.

01

Decide, then move

Once the path is clear, we commit and correct in motion. Reopening settled decisions burns money, so I'll name it when it happens.

02

The truth, early

You hear the problem in week two, not month nine. I'll tell you what your team and vendors may not, with the fix attached.

03

Short updates, no theatre

One 30-minute weekly sync and a live log of risks and decisions. No 40-slide status decks, no meetings about meetings.

04

Everything ties to the P&L

Every milestone is revenue unlocked, hard dollars saved, or risk removed. Work that moves none of the three gets cut.

05

Neutral by design

No software to sell, no bench to staff. Vendors, contractors, and your people sit on one plan with one owner.

06

Your team, stronger

Direct doesn't mean bulldozing. I bring your people with me and leave them owning the result, so it holds after I'm gone.

What working together feels like

Your weekly rhythm, in plain terms.

Whether it's a two-week A2X™ Diagnostic, a 90-day A2X™ Sprint or an ongoing A2X™ Fractional CIO role, the rhythm is the same.

First

Listen

I talk to you, your leaders and your vendors, and run the A2X™ Stress Test across people, process, technology and value.

Fast

Rank

You get a ranked list of what's costing you money and a plan with the dollar and time impact of each item.

Every week

Run

A 30-minute CEO sync. Decisions made and logged. Progress you can see without asking for it.

Every milestone

Land

It's live, or you know exactly what's in the way, what it costs, and what happens next.

Are we a fit?

Worth a call, or not. Your call.

We'll work well together if

  • You own the outcome and want it off your desk.
  • You'd rather hear the bad news now than discover it in month nine.
  • You can make a call in the room when the facts are on the table.
  • You measure success in dollars, not activity.
  • You want your team stronger when I leave, not dependent on me.

I'm probably not your guy if

  • You want a long strategy study or a deck for the board drawer.
  • Every decision needs everyone's sign-off before anything moves.
  • You're shopping for software, or for bodies to fill seats.
  • You'd rather have busy status reports than results.
  • You want the problem described more than you want it fixed.
My job is assurance of outcome.
